Maybe its just how small this island is but it feels like suicide, especially among the young, is growing in this country. The fact that I can name 10 people in close relation who have taken their own life in the last year and another 5 around the country is phenomenal and people need to start talking about it so much more so its less taboo.
I’m hoping to do a show in June all about it and have joined up with Adam Clayton’s Walk In My Shoes Foundation as one of their official ambassadors hopefully just to encourage people to talk about it more. Obviously I won’t be helping people personally but the more the conversation grows, hopefully the more people will start realising that its a growing issue.
Its incredible how much a person’s experience builds them. At the root of every trait, speech pattern, piece of body language and attitude is a defining catalyst. I love working it out.
